Purpose of the Position

Under the guidance of ICT Specialist (Infrastructure), the ICT Assistant supports, installs and maintains UNICEF Supply Division's Unified Communications systems and related applications.

Key Expected Results

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS

• Assist to provide UNICEF Supply Division with reliable unified communications (UC) services. UC include maintaining, supporting and monitoring IP telephony, voice & video conferencing, email, presence and content management.
• Function as a Local System Administrator and provide technical support as required for UNICEF Supply Division users to ensure continued access to UNICEF corporate applications. Provide second level technical support for help desk for call escalations in the area of Unified Communications.
• Provide technical support to ICT staff of other UNICEF field offices for mobile applications developed by UNICEF Supply Division for supply chain.
• Provide technical assistance to enable, monitor and maintain cloud based solutions & services for UNICEF Supply Division. This includes platform as a service, software as a service and identity management for authentication & access.
• Perform day to day operational support to maintain UNICEF Supply Division mailing lists, shared mailboxes, team sites configuration and access, web content management, document management and web & mobile applications.
• Act as primary focal point for UNICEF's IT Solutions and Services Division (ITSSD) in NY headquarters to communicate on cloud based unified communications (such as Office 365) functions and issues and to provide feedback on various pilot tests conducted in UNICEF Supply Division relating to collaboration platforms.
• Monitor support services provided by ITSSD and vendors against the agreed SLAs. Ensure continuity of support services by initiating support contract renewals in time in coordination with OATC administrative assistant and ICT Specialist (Infrastructure).
• Conduct evaluation of new IT technologies in relationship to UNICEF Supply Division requirements on Unified Communications together with ITSSD
• In consultation and coordination with ITSSD, maintain emergency telecommunications devices in Supply Division and provide telecommunication support as required during emergencies.
• Participate in the annual ICT disaster recovery, business continuity and security assessment exercises in UNICEF Supply Division along with UN City ICT annually and/or as scheduled.
