Sumbawanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) is an autonomous water supply organization mandated to provide water and sanitation services within the urban area of Sumbawanga. It was established in January 1998 under Act No. 8 of 1997, repealed by Act No. 12 of 2009. SUWASA is advertising a senior management vacant post and Electromechanical Technician post for which suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian citizen are invited to apply.
POSITION : ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
Reports To : Technical Manager
Reporting Office : Sumbawanga-Rukwa
Salary Scale : SUWASAs' Salary Scale
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensuring that all water pumps, machines and equipments are repaired professionally.
Making inspection and maintenance of pumps, machines and equipments according to laid down time schedule.
Training of pump operators on pump operation and record keeping.
Establishing and supervision of preventive maintenance schedule of plants, machines, equipments and motor vehicles.
Ensuring carrying out of inspection of plants, pumps, machines, equipments and motor vehicles using established official check list.
Establishing spare parts requirements for ordering from store.
Opening of job cards for every mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair works and recommending machines, equipments and motor vehicle requiring external garage mechanical maintenance and repair works
Efficient and effective supervision of subordinates undertaking mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair work.
Timely and accurate preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports· on mechanical maintenance and repair works.
Maintaining plants, machines, equipments and motor vehicle inventory.
Certification of mechanical maintenance and repair works undertaken by external garage/workshOp.
Preparing overtime claims by subordinates.
Advising the head of department on mechanical/electrical maintenance matters.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Technical Manager.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Full Technician Certificate/Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
Minimum of Three (3) years working experience as a Electromechanical Technician in the operation and maintenance of water pumps and electricity. .
Age between 28 and 45 years.
