Policy Forum is a dynamic and growing network of over 100 civil society organizations seeking to enhance and augment the voice of citizens in national policy processes. We strive to empower Tanzanian citizens to influence greater accountability in public decisions and in the use of public resources. The network is facilitated through a small secretariat office. The secretariat currently seeks to recruit for the following positions:
Programme Assistant – Grade 2

This type of position may attract people who are interested in conducting preliminary research and analysis on a diverse range of policy issues (including public budgets and expenditure, governance structures and reform processes, democracy and accountability issues.
The Details:
Responsibilities:
· Support Managers in the delivery of the Policy Forum strategic plan by: conducting preliminary analysis and research
· Coordinating logistics and administration for the Policy Analysis Manager.
· Ensuring documents are properly filed and can be easily found.
· Taking minutes and drafting reports as necessary.
Technical skills and experiences that we are seeking:
· Bachelor Degree or comparable experience in social sciences, journalism, law, public policy, governance, or a related field.
· Awareness of and demonstrated interest in critical issues in the Tanzanian policy environment at local and national level.
· Good basic analytical skills.
· Ability to function well in teams and to work productively in a multidisciplinary environment with diverse groups of people.
· Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, in Kiswahili and English.
· Basic IT skills – Office systems, presentations, extensive use of the internet for research.
· Demonstrated interest in working with civil society in Tanzania on policy issues.
