Job Summary

​Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) Ltd have been shortlisted for the upcoming DFID funded project "Water for Eastern Sudan - Urban Component".  The project aims to provide a comprehensive programme design for the rehabilitation and expansion of water and sanitation systems in Port Sudan.  The project is scheduled to commence in January 2014 for a duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

​We require a senior level Social Development and Gender Specialist to participate in this project.  Consultants will possess the following skills and experience:

• An advanced degree in a relevant field such as a social sciences discipline 
• At least 8 years of experience working on social safeguards to mitigate the social impact of infrastructure projects in developing countries including analysis of resettlement impacts, undertaking participatory consultation, development of compensation and grievance redress mechanisms. 
• An in-depth knowledge and experience with DFID’s social safeguard policies and requirements.
