Study Coordinator at Jhpiego

Position Description:

For 40years now, Jhpiego has empowered front-line health workers by designing and implementing effective, low-cost, hands-on solutions to strengthen the delivery of health care services for women and their families. By putting evidence-based health innovations into everyday practice, Jhpiego works to break down barriers to high-quality health care for the world's most vulnerable populations. Jhpiego is implementing a number of projects in Tanzania and wishes to fill the following positions:

The VMMC Study Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of all activities related to a study or multiple studies on voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) in Tanzania. It will be the job of theVMMC Study Coordinator to liaise closely with the PI and the study management team, to train and supervise research assistants, and to make sure that the study is conducted with adherence to the study protocol. He /she will also be responsible for producing periodic reports on the study progress and summary of the results. The Study Coordinator will be based in Dar es Salaam with extensive travel to Iringa and Tabora at times.

Qualifications Required

Completion of University-level degree, MA preferred

Demonstrated experience with IRB-approved research studies (research done during studies does not qualify) Experience hiring, training and supervising study staff

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Detail oriented and excellent communication skills.

Reading, written, and verbal fluency in English and Kiswahili

Preferred

Experience with VMMC, work with PEP FAR-funded programs

Familiarity with health facility setting
