Chief Of Party - East Africa Trade Project

Deloitte seeks to recruit for several positions for the anticipated multi-year, USAID-funded, East Africa Trade Expansion Hub Project (referred to here as the “Trade Hub Project”). The Trade Hub Project will increase regional trade of key staple foods within East Africa and trade of export products to international markets, with particular focus on taking advantage of AGOA. This will be done by improving capacities within the private sector and by reducing barriers within the trade and transportation enabling environment. The Trade Hub Project will contribute to USAID’s African Competitiveness and Trade Expansion Initiative (ACTE) and Feed the Future objectives.

Chief of Party – The COP should possess the intellectual, leadership and management skills necessary to develop, articulate and implement a vision for the project. S/he reports to USAID and manages relationships with regional organizations, private sector stakeholders, and government bodies. The COP will also establish the framework to monitor and ensure progress toward the objectives and anticipated results of the project and will ensure sound financial management and oversight of sub recipients.

Qualifications:

• 10 years experience leading projects with demonstrated success achieving results in trade, agricultural development, transport, export promotion, and institutional development.
• Superb management skills and technical expertise aligned to the project’s scope of work
• Advanced graduate degree, such as a master's degree or Ph.D., in economics, business administration or another related field is required.
• Exceptional English technical writing and communication skills
• Prior experience managing USAID projects
• East Africa experience is highly preferred
