We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Strategy Analyst III in Washington, DC or Research Triangle Park, NC.
Position Description:
- Overseeing and mentoring all administrative staff on the team on issues related to procurement, purchasing, and contracts. Includes 4 - 5 Administrative Assistants / Associates as well as temporary administrative staff who provide to support the overall Strategy and Communications teams;
- Establishing and strengthening essential systems and processes to ensure the overall operational performance and functioning of the Strategy and Communications team as a whole, which includes systems for procurement, vendor management, purchasing, budget development and management, and overall administrative support. Ensure that these systems adapt and evolve as the team itself evolves.
- Providing primary support in the development and oversight of the SDC budget. In this role, serve as the primary point of contact with Finance. Prepare the annual budget request in partnership with the senior members of the Strategy and Communications teams, monitor monthly budget reports, prepare and lead quarterly budget review meetings with senior staff on team.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with leadership in other Enterprise Services functions across FHI 360, including Purchasing, Finance, Contract Management Services and Facilities in particular.
- Serving as the main team leader and interface with the Finance Team in the corporate-wide annual planning and budgeting process as it relates to annual budgeting within the Business Performance Management process.
- Leading financial and other kinds of analysis as required by the Senior Advisor.
- Provides market and competitive analyses to make informed strategic and business planning decisions.
- Evaluates new and alternative business models as well as business fundamentals of new initiatives and propositions coming from sectors and regions.
- Responsible for drafting tools, templates guidelines, processes, procedures and to continually improve on the efficiency and efficacy of the strategic planning and analysis functions of the organization.
- Creates up-to-date information and systems on competitive, funder and country shifts that impact the company’s market position and strategy.
- Collaborates with management or acts independently to identify analysis required to make strategic decisions.
- Assist in contributing to business plans by identifying strategic growth areas and opportunities.
- Serves as a liaison with Legal and Corporate Finance for strategy management.
- Other duties as assigned. May involve a greater role in business management performance, innovation initiative and other key activities being led by the Senior Advisor depending on candidate's strengths and interests.

- Provide full leadership for budget management under direction of the Senior Advisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Business, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or its international equivalent in Business, Finance or related field preferred.
- Typically requires 8+ years of experience with market research, business analysis, or project management.
- Prior experience working with a Nongovernmental organization (NGO) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with analyzing data and creating specifications for reports based on business needs/requests.
- Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with international and domestic funders across multiple sectors.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with maturity and discretion.
- Capable of motivating, mentoring and managing staff with diverse backgrounds and expertise.
- Skilled at working on multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, under tightdeadlines, without compromising quality.
- Considerable ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff
- Ability to work with judgment, tact and poise.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues addressed by FHI 360.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and communicate complex issues with discretion and ease.
- Flexibility and willingness to pitch in whenever needed to get the job done.
- Knowledge of FHI 360 and organizational groupings.
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
