Nutrition Specialists, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia
ASI is currently seeking senior-level Nutrition Specialists for short and long term field assignments supporting upcoming projects in Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia. The Specialists will provide nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programme design and training. The location and timeline for these assignments is dependent upon ASI being awarded specific contracts.
Responsibilities: • Lead as Team Leader or Core Team Member on field-based technical nutrition assignments
• Carry out Monitoring and Evaluation of on-going nutrition programmes and preform assessments of nutrition mainstreaming in cross-sectorial programming.
• Integrate Nutrition concerns into agricultural interventions, ensuring nutrition-sensitive agriculture
• Develop analysis frameworks, and programme design.
• Coordinate program implementation with a wide range of people, including senior government staff and government counterparts as well as local implementing organizations
• Carry out Monitoring and Evaluation of on-going nutrition programmes and preform assessments of nutrition mainstreaming in cross-sectorial programming.
• Integrate Nutrition concerns into agricultural interventions, ensuring nutrition-sensitive agriculture
• Develop analysis frameworks, and programme design.

Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or higher in related fields (e.g. nutrition, agriculture, public health, etc.)
• At least 10 years of experience working in nutrition, health and human development programmes
• Field experience in sub-Saharan Africa or south Asia
• Demonstrated analytic skills. Familiarity with market analysis frameworks (M4P, value chain systems, etc.) preferred.
• Previous DFID or other European donor experience preferred
• Demonstrated familiarity with current global nutrition trends, such as Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition, 1st 1,000 days, Scaling up Nutrition (SUN), Essential Nutrition Actions (ENA)
• Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural and communication skills
• Strong written and oral proficiency in English required
