Description
The Superintendent Mine Engineer - Planning is responsible for strategic, long and short term Mine Planning, Mine Design and Mine Production. The position is a leadership role and so is accountable for ensuring that the Senior Mining Engineers are supported to ensure quality delivery of plans and schedules in a timely manner that are in line with the monthly plan and budget.
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
- Demonstrate initiative by being able to take full responsibility for safety, production and quality of the mining operation (drilling, blasting, excavation, dumping & construction)
- Ability and experience in training, coaching and mentoring subordinate personnel. Institute and manage skills and technological transfer for effective succession planning
- Experience in the use of Gemcom/Surpac, Datamine and other mining software packages. Practical knowledge in the use of spreadsheet and database software packages
- Experience in Open Pit optimizations using Gemcom Whittle, pit designing using Surpac or Vulcan, fleet optimisation using Talpac and production scheduling using Xpac.
- Competent person for purposes of Ore Reserves reporting as per the JORC code.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the mining industry in large open pit operations utilising excavators and large trucks.
