Reporting to the Deputy Director/Finance & Administration the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- applying Human Resource policies, strategies and practices,
- formulating and implementing the Human Resource management plan,
- managing Human Resource data (payroll, records),
- Coordinating staff issues (recruitment, deployment, training, development, and performance).
- Providing Human Resource advice to the Management as and when required.
Minimum requirements
- A Masters degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution
- Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
- Membership to a relevant professional body is essential.
- At least 3 (three) years of relevant professional HR practice in a recognized organization.
- Demonstrated professional competence in Human Resource Management and handling confidential information.
- Knowledge in Public Sector Human Resource provisions is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and coordinate Training programmes.
- Ensure quality of training programmes
- Coordinate certification for the participants of training programmes.
- Prepare budget proposals for the training programme
- Prepare and submit training reports in a timely manner.
- Engage in research, innovation and product development
Minimum Requirements
- A Master degree in Education, Strategic or Business Management from a recognized instituition.
- Minimum three years of experience in managing capacity development programme

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Director/Training the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership and direction to the KEMI research department and support service units.
- Undertake research, research staff management and research training, as well as research advancement.
- Stakeholder liaison and client support will be aspects of this position, as well as international collaborations.
- Leading large research projects, and raising research funds.
Minimum requirements
- A Masters degree in Social sciences or Research or related field from a recognized institution
- A PhD in Education Administration will be an added advantage
- At least 3 (three) years of relevant experience in research
- Demonstrated professional competence in supervising and conducting research projects
- A high and sustained publication record in reputable research journals

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Director Finance and Administration the role of Hotel Manager will be to:
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate all hotel operations
- Develop and implement quality guests services standards and feedback system
- Ensure adequate systems are in place to safeguard the safety and security of guests, employees and Institute’s property
- Give advice on the formulation and implementation of financial and operational policies of the hotel
- Contribute to the marketing of the hotel
- Keep good public relation with the guests/visitors, local community and staff.

- Degree in Hotel Management or Diploma in Hotel Management from Utalii College.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- developing Internal Audit Plans,
- undertaking internal audits,
- setting up risk committees in the institution,
- establishing and ensuring management of a risk-register in each department,
- providing recommendations to the Director and management and following through of all action points with departments until they have been fully addressed.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor degree in commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution and CPA (K) qualification or other internationally recognized accounting qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Deputy Director/Finance & Administration, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Heading the sales and marketing department.
- Setting of targets and making sure that they are met within the budgeted profit margins.
- Strategize on increasing revenues and formulation of budgets.
- Identifying new regions where the KEMI services can be introduced.
- Draw and implement business plan for KEMI.
- Organizing interactive programs to disseminate marketing information Facilitating and supporting development of market place entrepreneurs; identifying profitable business linkages for the institute.
- Identifying and pursing market opportunities locally to improve market access for institutes’ products and services.
- Monitoring and evaluating competitor activity, providing market information and intelligence; and conducting market surveys.

- 7) SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JG: L( Ref: KEMI/HR/2/7/2013 )

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Accounts the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing petty cash and ensure proper use of institutional funds,
- Receiving and receipting monies received and ensuring that the same is kept in good custody and banked on time,
- Effect payments against duly authorized payment vouchers,
- collect bank statements and bank balances,
- Maintain up-to-date registers of daily collections and banking summaries, and to summarize and remit all sales documents to the Head of Accounts on daily basis.
- Process all transactions to the financial accounting software, and attend to audit matters that may be raised.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor degree in commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution

8) Examinations Officer JG N (1 Post) KEMI/HR/2/8 /2013

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to Deputy Director/Training, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating preparation of examination papers involving assessment by written papers in the Institute.
- Preparation of examinations budget.
- Maintaining records of all marks for use at the end of examination and at the full meeting of the Academic Board and submit to the Director for approval.
- Ensuring current examination regulations and conventions are adhered to.
- Liaising with both Internal and External Examiners and with relevant Heads of Departments.
- Informing all External Examiners of the timetable of the examination preparation, and to ensure that they have the relevant programme information.
- Supervision of examinations.
- Coordinating marking of examination papers and processing of marks.
- Coordinating marking of examination re-sits and processing of results.
- Organizing exam materials, providing safe custody of and organizing examination stationery and materials, including question papers, in accordance with set regulations.

9) Admissions Officer JG “K” (1 Post) KESI/HR/2/9/2013

Duties and Responsibilities.
Reporting to Deputy Director/Training, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Generate all admission letters and communication as directed.
- Maintain inventory of admission materials, class lists, waitlists, applications and publications.
- Notify the Director of admissions of items requiring tracking of application documents, enrollment, documents, etc.
- Process admissions documents, providing safe custody of materials in accordance with set regulations.
- Assist with maintaining Admissions office records (enquiry forms, enrolment reports, rejected/withdrawn applicant files, and other miscellaneous filing).
- Review Admissions applications, write summaries and make recommendations regarding acceptance.

- Be in charge of the Reception area, operate Reception Switchboard/answering all incoming calls.

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Supplies Chain Management Assistant, Officer’s role will be to:
- Preparation and implementation of organizational procurement plan.
- Ensure adherence to Procurement Act and Regulations.
- Facilitate in collaboration with other departments timely procurement of goods and services.
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of re-order levels of goods.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to Head of Finance and Accounts, the Bookshop Assistant’s role will be to:
- Keep a running inventory of books and other bookstore stock.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the bookshop.
- Maintain textbook stock on the sales floor and overstock.
- Respond to customer questions and complaints about book returns.
- Develop and implements procedures for receiving and storing books and other bookstore stock.
- Process orders, receive and unpack incoming orders, checking against items listed on requisitions, invoices or other order forms.

- Installation of piping work, repair and maintenance of water accessories
