Chemonics seeks two Washington-based project management associates to provide day-to-day support to project teams and contribute to proposal development for USAID-funded activities. Assigned project(s) depend on the associates' qualifications and interests. Our regional portfolio includes projects in East Africa in fields including health, agriculture, private sector development, conflict and disaster management, management solutions, environmental services, and democracy and governance. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:
* Communicate with field offices
* Recruit and field consultants
* Establish and maintain home-office files
* Liaise with home-office support departments on services including contract-related procurements, accounting, personnel, publications, and travel
* Serve on new business proposal teams
* Perform general administrative duties
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
* Minimum one year of administrative or technically relevant work experience preferred, with ability to handle routine tasks and operational issues
* Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of four to eight weeks per year
* Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail
* Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Fluency in French preferred
* Permanent U.S. employment authorization required
