Under the supervision of the Pochalla Site Manager, the following specific tasks & responsibilities will be assigned to the WASH Coordinator:
1.Supervise all IMC construction work in Pochalla county, including the construction of one school, rehabilitation of two clinics, and additional works as necessary.
2.Provide technical & professional advice to contractors on the ground doing construction related work for IMC
3.Be on construction site daily, supervising, guiding & directing local contractors, ensuring that international minimum engineering standards are met as well as specifications stated on IMC specific Bill of Quantities & Drawings for the engaged program.
4.Quality control of works at all construction phases.
5.Ensure that time table is being followed as stated in awarded contracts for all construction works.
6.Act as a liaison between IMC Management and local contractors and provide detailed progress reports on works.
7.Assist in drawing up contracts with local contractors/building suppliers. Any work engaged from casual labor to contractors is to be done by signature of a written agreement indicating:
a.The scope / description of work to be done. b.Parties & names of people engaged in the contract. c.Date of agreement, timeline for completion, and penalty upon failure to complete. d.Specific payment amount & schedule, as well penalties/deductions upon failure to complete a contract. e.Safety measures to be taken by contractor & disclaimer for IMC against any injury / fatality.
8.See to the safety of all people on and around the construction site. Identify & mange hazards.
9.Supervise IMC guards of the construction site.
10.See that any expenditure follows standard IMC procurement procedure & is pre-approved by IMC management by signature.
11.Do preventative maintenance to equipment; ensure that resources are well kept and utilized correctly.
12.Control waste, and implement measure to reduce losses of supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS •Related University / School Qualification. •Proven experience in construction (survey/bill of quantity, contract setup with labors), electricity, plumbing, masonries and carpentry, building construction & repair. •Administrative capacity & some managerial skill. •Computer literacy & familiarity of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is an advantage, •Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations. •Fluent in English, both written & oral.
