Success Academy Charter Schools is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates nine public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City (with three additional school openings planned for August 2012). We are seeking an ambitious Student Achievement Coordinator to join our Success Academies team!
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to a Student Achievement Manager, the Student Achievement Coordinator is responsible for student information related to assessments and special education services school-wide. The Student Achievement team collaborates closely with the Instructional Development and Data & Accountability departments at Success Academy Charter Schools.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate all student achievement testing and data collection for the school.
- Synthesize student performance data into meaningful, concise results that teachers can use to differentiate their instruction.
- Manage the entire test administration process for all grades and all students within the school. This includes high-stakes exams for scholars in grade 3 and up.
- Coordinate the Response to Intervention (RTI) process at the school, including data meetings, tutoring sessions, and meetings with the School Based Support Team (SBST).
- Coordinate student Individualized Education Program (IEP) creation, and interact frequently with teachers and special education providers to determine current and future educational services for all students.
- Support the work of special education service providers at the school.
- Communicate student performance results to parents, including the need for additional support services if necessary.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree and experience managing a team. A background in special education is preferable but not required.
