The Rwanda Stock Exchange Limited was established with the objective of carrying out stock market operations. The Stock Exchange was officially launched on January 31st, 2011 and it is in the process of enhancing its operations and institutional capacity.
It is in this regard that the Rwanda Stock Exchange intends to recruit qualified and competent candidates for the following position:
ACCOUNTANT (1 position)
Specific responsibilities:
The Accountant of the Rwanda Stock Exchange shall be responsible for accounting and finance duties for the institution.
Detailed job specifications include:
Description of Duties:
Directly reporting to the Executive management, the Accountant will undertake the following duties:
• To ensure smooth accounting and financial operations of the exchange.
• To do bookkeeping for the exchange.
• To provide timely financial, management and statutory reports.
• To design and implement effective financial controls and procedures.
• To prepare the company’s annual budgets.
• To monitor the implementation of the budgets.
• To prepare monthly financial reports, including the profit and loss accounts and cash flows of the Exchange.
• To ensure timely payments and disbursements made in accordance with the Exchange financial regulations.
• To prepare final accounts for audit.
• To liaise with the authorities on all tax matters.
• To develop an appropriate investment policy for the Exchange surplus.
• To ensure overall cleanliness of the Exchange including repairs and maintenance.
• To co-ordinate staff travel (both local and international).
• To ensure effective provision of security and insurance services for the Exchange.
• To ensure timely payment of all salaries and benefits to the staff.
• To develop personnel and administrative policies and systems for the Exchange.
• To develop the appropriate purchase and supplies policies and to ensure adherence to these policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration.
• Have professional qualifications such as CPA, ACA or ACCA an added advantage.
• Have 3 years post professional qualification experience work in a relevant organization.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake challenging work.
• Be thoroughly competent in computers.
FRONT OFFICE - OFFICER (1 Position)
Specific responsibilities:
The Front Office Officer of the Rwanda Stock Exchange shall be responsible the management and administration of the front office. Detailed job specifications include:
Description of Duties:
Directly reporting to the Executive management, the Front Office Officer will undertake the following duties:
• To serve as an administrative assistant to the Executive management.
• To process the Exchange’s correspondences.
• To receive all incoming telephone calls and receive all visitors to the Exchange.
• To type letters and other documents prepared by the managers.
• To handle the Exchange’s visitors.
• To ensure all incoming mail is recorded and handed over to the appropriate staff
• To record all incoming and outgoing mail or correspondence.
• To schedule business appointments.
• To organize and maintain the filing system and records for the Exchange.
• To perform all other duties as may be directed by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A University degree in Administration, management or any other related field.
• Qualifications from a recognized secretarial college or institution would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping will be an added advantage.
• Be fluent in written and spoken Kinyarwanda, English and French.
• Be competent in computer skills.
• Experience of not less than 2 years’ work in government or a major institution.
• Good public relations skills, confident and articulate.
• Knowledge of office procedures.
