GENERAL INFORMATION:
South West Academy is a new school situated in a developing suburb of Addis Ababa, which was opened in August of 2007. It has also added another building in the same area to offer a high quality education for Ethiopians. Consequently the school is seeking to recruit qualified native English speakers to become full time ESL teaching positions.
NATURE OF THE SCHOOL:
SWA is a private school licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Education. The schoolwas founded by a partnership of two Ethiopians with a strong interest in education. Theschool has its own two campuses situated in Lafto neighborhood. The first and the oldercampus is a five storey building with 33 classrooms; 23 classrooms for the primary andlevel and 10 for the kindergarten level. Each of the classrooms is of a standard size, issuitably equipped for modern teaching and includes a line for plasma televisions. Wealso have two well equipped laboratories, a large and well resourced library, and apedagogic center for producing teaching aids, a well equipped and spacious staff room,a staff cafeteria and several administrative offices. The school also offers a first aidhealth service to both staff and students. On the other hand, the new building has highstandard laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. We have a cafeteria thatserves the teaching and administrative staff at a very reasonable price. Well equippedcomputer laboratory that can be utilized by both staff and students is available in bothcampuses with a free internet service for both teachers and students. The library in thenew campus is furnished with all sorts of books, instructional and recreational.
