RIGHTS IN REDUCING SEXUAL TRANSMISSION OF HIV

INTRODUCTION

Under Funding of SSF/I IIV-GLOBAL FUND, FAITH VICTORY ASSOCIATION would like to hire a consultant to conduct a training for sex workers in participatory assessment and mapping exercises and to facilitate Participatory needs assessments conducted by sex workers aiming at health, well-being, violence and rights

1. Objectives and consultancy expected results

1.1. Objectives:

• Train sex workers to conduct participatory assessment and mapping exercises at country wide
• Facilitate Participatory needs assessments conducted by sex workers aiming at health, well-being, violence prevention and rights on the field.

1.2. Expected results

• 1500 sex workers are trained and able to conduct participatory assessments and mapping exercises
• A small survey on participatory needs assessments conducted by sex workers aiming at health, well-being, violence and rights is done
• The situation of sex workers in Rwanda on HIV and STIs, violence, life skills and referral for HIV testing and STIs is documented
• The map of sex workers in Rwanda is updated and available
• Sex workers needs are documented and disseminated

1.3. Main activities

• Train 1500 sex workers to conduct participatory assessments and mapping ex­ercises on country wide
• Prepare a small survey on participatory needs assessments conducted by sex workers aiming at health, well-being, violence prevention and rights promotion
• Conduct a sites assessment
• Supervise the survey on the field

I. Minimum Qualifications Required

• At least a Degree in Public health, Social sciences or any other related disci­pline;
• At least five years of experience in participatory assessment and monitoring, data processing and analysis
• Experience in training of trainers is a requirement
• Experience of conducting baseline surveys is a requirement
• A good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities and social and cultural constraints and realities in the lIealth sector;
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative researches
• Familiarity working with Civil Society Organizations and local communities At least working with the most- at- risk population
• Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French is required and the knowledge of the both would be an added value.

II. Consultancy duration and work conditions

• The consultancy duration is fixed by the consultant according to Participative research training norms and Field work
• Work conditions are negotiable in relation to closer analysis of technical and financial offers.

The interested consultants and having requirement capacities are invited to submit a C.V., a description of works done in participative training, a proposition of how to conduct this training and facilitation of the assessment on the field, thus their financial offer at FVA office at later 1st August 2011 at 10:00 AM
