DIRETOR ECONOMIC REGULATION - Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority, (TCAA) was established by the enactments of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority Act 2003 Cap 80 (R.E 2006). The Authority is responsible for safety, security and economic regulation of the activities of persons and institutions providing air transport services, aeronautical airport services and air navigation services. In addition the Authority provides air navigation services in Tanzania.

The Authority now invites qualified and experienced applicants to fill in the following vacant positions in the Division of Economic Regulation:

1.0 POSITION: DIRETOR ECONOMIC REGULATION

Reporting to Director General. He/she will responsible for ensuring that air transport services are provided in an efficient, reliable and competitive manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

- To manage the Economic Regulation division in an efficient manner

- To advise on formulation of air transport policies and regulations

- To enforce regulation and requirements and monitoring of the performance of the industry and operators.

- To coordinate multilateral and bilateral air services agreements and negotiations

- To maintain regional and international cooperation in air transport


- To approve schedules and operating permits

- To conduct and coordinate studies on aviation sector in order to determine e trends of the industry

- To advise o development and improvement of Air transport

- To lead departments strategic planning, business planning and budget process

- To develop and implement national facilitation programme

- To produce the Directorates quarterly/annually report sand accurate timely statistical reports

- To lead secretarial of the National Air Transport Facilitation committee

- To regulate rates and charges

- To facilitate resolution of complaints.

- To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Asters Degree in Economics, Air Transport Economics/Statistics or Business Administration.

Working Experience

Ten (10) years work experience with at least not less than 8 years in Management position or similar position.

Salary: Within Salary grade of TCAA S12

2.0 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE FOR ALL THE POSTS.

- Term of Office: Successful candidates will be appointed initially on one year probation period and thereafter if successful on one year probation period and thereafter if successful on un specified period depending on the age of the employee.

- Legal Requirement: All officers of the Authority are required to observe the TCAA Code of Conduct.

- Other terms and conditions of service are as will be promulgated in the TCAA Staff Regulations.
