Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Rwanda citizens for the following position:
Community Power Project - Country Manager
Location: Based in Kigali with frequent travel to and overnights in rural areas.
Duration: 2 years (with possible extension)
Reporting to: TEF
Salary: Negotiable
Job Summary: The Country Manager will be responsible for the full-time management of this project, including supervision of 6 staff in Kigali and 100 staff regionally. You will actively manage a team of development agents as they identify suitable communities in which to set up energy kiosks, install and test equipment and recruit and train the community agents. You will be provided full training on our technical and business model. Your role will be rewarded on achievement of targets, facilitating the smooth deployment of community kiosks throughout the country and coordinating distribution of equipment and sales stock. You will work closely with partner companies and subcontractors.
You will provide leadership on issues of training, HR and be responsible for reporting to HQ and partners and for the financial management of country operations.
Essential Requirements
• Business or Technical qualification.
• At least 4 years’ experience in a management/supervisory role in charge of a team of staff.
• Business or Community development experience with a demonstrable track record.
• Experience of accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Experience of challenges of working with local partners, sub-contractors, equipment distributors.
• High level of computer literacy • Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and French.
• Analytical and report writing skills.
• Full driving license
Useful Qualifications
• Experience of off-grid power systems.
• Familiarity with/Experience of programme planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Experience in retail management.
• Previous responsibility for company accounts, P&L targets and regulatory compliance.
• Own vehicle.
