Good knowledge of Italian, both written and spoken WORK CONTEXT CESVI works in Congo RDC since 2001, with the double commitment to assist the victims of the humanitarian crisis in the Eastern provinces and to support the health sector in Kinshasa. CESVI's main sectors of intervention in the East are water and sanitation, food security, protection and education. Each project is coordinated by an expatriate staff. General coordination, logisitcs and administration is located in Bunia. In the Eastern Provinces Cesvi is implementing emergency and post emergency programmes in Haut and Bas Huélé. In Ituri CESVI has been awarded a water facility programme of the European Union of 3 years durations, based in Mabasa Territory.The Area coordinator based in Bunia will be responsible for the coordination of programs in the Ituri, Bas and Haut Huele region. The projects are mainly fundedby ECHO, UE and UN agencies. The person will represent the Organisation with the donors, the local authorities and the other stakeholders, both national and international, operating in the sector/area of intervention. The person will be in charge of managing the team of expatriate staff in the different locations. JOB DESCRIPTION The collaboration will start in September 2011. The person will coordinate the different interventions carried out by CESVI in the region, with a specific attention to strategic planning of projects in coordination with the other CESVI offices in the Country/Region. He/she will respond to the Desk Officer at CESVI Head Quarters.
Main tasks: - General coordination and supervision of the mission - Supervision of the implantation of the operations of procurement of goods and services - Undertaking frequent visits to the project sites to gain a clear understanding of project conditions, requirements and constraints - Supervision of the work of the expatriate staff, the local partner and the project consultants as per the projects work plan - Reporting to the Desk Officer and to the donor on a regular base - Representing the organization with the local authorities, the donors and the local/international stakeholders operating in the regions with specific attention to the cluster meetings and research of new sources of funding - Identifying and writing new project proposals and holding assessments and data collections on the field.
