The International Center for Journalists and the African Media Initiative seek an experienced business development and media manager to oversee a multi-country media development project based in Nairobi, Kenya. The Knight International Journalism Fellow will lead a project for a minimum of one year to improve business management practices at three or more media organizations, developing sustainable business models that can be duplicated. Project will focus on improving advertising by developing new revenue and distribution models, and improving marketing, personnel and other management skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in media management, marketing and/or advertising
- Experience in Africa
- Journalism experience or strong knowledge of media is a plus
- Fluency in English; French would be a plus
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills
- Excellent organizational skills
