Amref Health Africa Tanzania has received funding from the Human Development Innovation Fund, (HDIF) to implement M- Vaccination (Boresha Chanjo) Project in Shinyanga Region (Msalala and Kahama Districts) and Geita Region (Bukombe and Mbogwe Districts) and will be implemented in partnership with GSK and Vodafone.

1. PROJECT MANAGER: m _Vaccination (Boresha Chanjo)
WORK STATION: SHINYANGA
REPORTS TO: PROGRAMME MANAGER – LAKE ZONE
JOB OBJECTIVES:-
The Project Manager will collaborate with Council Health Management Team (CHMT) members in implementing the Boresha Chanjo activities aiming to improve the effectiveness of the Immunization and Vaccine Development (IVD) programme in terms of coverage, quality and reporting in the targeted districts. S/he will be the focal person for project management as per project protocol and agreement made between the Donor and Amref Health Africa Tanzania, and Partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
• Develop and oversee implementation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual plans and budgets for approval by Amref Health Africa Tanzania management.
• Produce and submit weekly updates and monthly, quarterly and annual project reports for Amref Health Tanzania Country Office.
• Responsible for management of all project resources including staff, funds, equipment, vehicle(s) and commodities.
• Develop and oversee training, mentorship and supervision plans for health workers from health facilities in the entire districts so as to use the m-Vaccination tools.
• Ensure project buy-in by regional and district authorities with specific involvement of Regional/Council Health Management Team members in collaboration with Regional/District Vaccine and Immunization Officers (RIVO & DIVO).
• Provide technical assistance to national, regional and district IVD staff to ensure ownership of project and specifically for the integration of the technology into the Vaccine Inventory Management System (VIMS).
• Coordinate and maintain records for Project Management Team and Steering Committee meetings
• Maintain good working relationships with CHMT members and specifically the DIVO by ensuring regular updating them on project progress and identifying areas of their support.
• Maintain good working relationships with partners implementing components of the project i.e. GSK, Vodafone and Mezzanine.
• Review and supervise work of Project Officer and Project Driver.
• In liaison with Amref Health Africa management and other technical staff within Amref Health Africa, actively participate in programme development through idea notes development, proposal and manuscripts writing in line with Amref Health Africa strategic approaches.
Qualification and Experience
• Basic degree in Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing or other health related fields
• Post-graduate qualification or higher in health or other related social science discipline.
• Three (3) years’ or more experience in managing similar community system intervention projects
• Adequate knowledge and experience of working in the Tanzanian health sector
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Ability to work with people from all backgrounds
• Basic computer application skills esp. word processing, excel, PowerPoint and e-communication.
