Location: Morogoro, Tanzania - with frequent countrywide travel (although the role will be likely to relocate to Mbeya in May 2016)
Contract: 1 year, with strong possibility of extension to permanent

Overall Purpose of the Job
The key purpose of the Entrepreneur Project Officer (PO) is to implement Raleigh’s Entrepreneur project in Tanzania with support from the Entrepreneur Project Manager (PM) The PO will be involved at all levels of project implementation, but will have a specific focus on training, delivery and support; whereas the Project Manager is focused on the overall management of the Entrepreneur programme and will have a clear emphasis on developing the programme, partner relationships and monitoring & evaluation. The job demands frequent interaction with and provision of technical support to Raleigh volunteer groups.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Training, knowledge building and technical development of Raleigh volunteers
• Develop a training induction programme that supports the volunteers to successfully meet the project outcomes
• Develop a resource pack which can provide the framework for on-going learning throughout the project
• Responsible for all related administrative tasks: updating materials, toolkits, templates and managing databases
Project delivery
• Work closely with partner technical teams to ensure that adequate support and training is delivered
• Deliver specific project related training for both staff and volunteers
• Work closely with Deputy Operations Managers to coordinate insert training and support of the volunteer teams
• Provide weekly in-depth telephone support to all Entrepreneur teams
• Provide at least one personal visit per group per cycle
• Coordinate with the national office to support the medical, communication and logistical needs of the volunteers
• Ensure volunteers are aware of and adhere to Raleigh code of conduct, policies and procedures
• Travel to project sites for support visit and training delivery
• Develop / improve a methodology to support the volunteers to train beneficiaries in entrepreneurship
• Give follow-up ‘aftercare’ to entrepreneurs who have set up their own businesses
Support to Project Managers with:
o M&E reporting
o Coordinating partner review meetings
o Representing Raleigh at entrepreneurship events / networks
Professional Experience:
• Knowledge and background in youth and small business development or related sector
• Previous experience working in the development sector
• Experience in all aspects of project management, including budgeting, reporting, partner coordination and monitoring & evaluation
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Key Personal Competencies
Communication:
• Ability to design and deliver high-quality training
• Good level of technical communication skills, both written and verbal to motivate others
• Represent Raleigh International in a range of technical and non-technical forums powerfully and persuasively
• Fluency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English
Team Working and Interpersonal Skills:
• Able to work with a wide variety of volunteers from different backgrounds and nationalities
• Network and form effective and constructive working relationships across the whole organisation and wider network within the sector
• Motivate colleagues
• High level of motivation and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Staff Management:
• Contribute to the coordination and oversight of the work of volunteers, interns and staff, as delegated, using negotiation skills
• Think clearly and provide accurate detailed reports and data as requested

• Show a commitment to the work of Raleigh International and be trusted to act with integrity and honesty

• Keep a bigger picture in mind; manage risk and support your colleagues to ensure we deliver quality to the best of our ability
