The CPiE /Case Management Specialist will be responsible to develop case management tools and guidance to ensure appropriate and safe alternative care arrangements with special attention to children in emergency. Strengthening community based child protection mechanisms, community-based psychosocial support through Child Friendly Spaces. Building the capacity of Plan child protection officers and coordinator in implementing timely, quality and appropriate gender and age sensitive case management for vulnerable children; Building the capacity of Plan´s case management social workers to implement timely, quality and appropriate case work, documentation, direct support and referral and appropriate follow-up for the children.
Qualifications and experience
· The qualified candidate will be a mental health and psychosocial professional with relevant degree in Psychology, anthropology, Social work or equivalent. A masters or PhD plus 3 years clinical experience will add competitive advantage.
· Demonstrate good understanding of CPIE.
· Experience of working with Child Protection Case Management, Best Interest Assessments and Child Protection Information Management System
· Experience of working with vulnerable children, such as Unaccompanied and Separated Children and children with special needs
· Experience in coordination and technical assistance provision at the level of working group/task force or equivalent.
· Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability issues and vulnerability in term of psychosocial consequences.
· Extensive knowledge of emergency psychosocial work, design and implementation of feeding programs including monitoring and evaluation.
· Knowledge of international humanitarian standards and codes of conduct.
· Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
Skills specific to the post
· Proven capacity to train, coach staff and provide supportive supervision on case management
· Proven effective management skills leading teams across several locations and operating in a cross cultural structure
· Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Experience of managing grants and reporting requirements with donors such as ECHO, UNHCR, Sida, DFID etc.
· Excellent project design, participatory monitoring and evaluation skills
· Ability to work in emergency settings
· Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organisation
· Strong communication and reporting skills Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to the psychosocial needs of patients and his family.
