Credit Controller , AAR Insurance (Tanzania) Limited

AAR Insurance (Tanzania) Limited is a subsidiary of AAR Holdings which is the largest and most successful private Insurance company in East Africa. In Tanzania its Head Office is in Dar es Salaam and branches are in Arusha and Mwanza.
In line with our corporate objective of constantly reviewing and enhancing our key performance areas we wish to engage the following person:

Credit Controller
Purpose of the Position
To give financial and business support to Insurance operations and Insurance Management team
The Successful candidate will be based in Dar Es Salaam and will report to the Financial Controller

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the setting up of the credit control system
Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the company
Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
Regular meetings with membership unit to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
Identify changes {n payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
Ensure that all transactions are compliant with TIRA regulations
Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
Provide accurate advice on billing queries
Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
Post payments to the ACCPAC and allocate as required
Undertake debtors and revenue account reconciliations as required
Assist in the preparations of the monthly management accounts
Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested
Daily Collection report and Monthly Triangulations Reports
Other duties as delegated from time to time by supervisor

Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess thefollowing minimum qualifications:

Education:
CPA (T) holder
Bachelor or Advance Diploma in Accounting
Accounting system knowledge e.g. SAGE
ACCPAC
Five (5) years working experience as an Accountant
Excellent computer skills.
Proven technical accounting skills

Attributes:
Experience in insurance industry will be an added advantage
