Acacia Mining’s Discovery Group seeks to employ a Geological Database Assistant based in Dar es Salaam. This role reports to the Geological Database Specialist and the role holder will be accountable to provide support for the Discovery Group's Database Management Systems across the Africa Region.
This is a permanent role based in Dar es Salaam.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• All data is entered into the database efficiently, accurately and within required timeframes
• Effective database maintenance
• Proactive in development of data entry procedures
• Ensure that data exports meet site requirements
• Database documents are filed correctly in accordance with company convention
• Database standards are monitored and maintained
• Ensure that procedures are followed
• Ensure that all sites and labs provide correctly formatted data
• Ensure data integrity by means of QAQC reports and auditing
• Assist in preparation of all reports
• Database issues are readily identified and reported
• Monitoring of database backups
• Comply with Safe Work Practices and promoting the organisation’s safety culture
• Attendance at compulsory Safety courses
• Demonstrates a high concern for health, safety and environment
• To complete all assigned tasks on time and to standard
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
• Diploma in Geology or equivalent from an accredited institution
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a geological database position within the mining industry
• Experience in providing database services
• Experience with AcQuire software
• Data QAQC Protocols
• Cataloguing and systems management
