Longido Community Development Organization (LCDO) is a membership, nonprofit organization based in Longido District. The organization works towards the empowerment of the most vulnerable Pastoralist Maasai communities through promoting access to quality education, health awareness, access to safe and clean water, human rights and economic empowerment.
LCDO would like to recruit qualified candidates to fill the positions for Programs Officer, Water Technician and The Program Assistant. They will be working under the leadership/ guidance of the Coordinator to implement various donor funded programs/projects in Longido District. They will also be accountable for professional and technical contribution on programs management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, budget preparation, reporting and documentation. They will also contribute to documentation of most significant change stories and general progress against outcome indicators as well as facilitate the documentation and communication initiative.
Position: Water Technician
Location: Arusha, Longido District
Duration: 12 months (renewable based on satisfactory performance/availability of funds)
Reporting to: Coordinator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within delegated authority, The Water Technician will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supervise construction of dams and repair of surface water intakes and wells
- Plan scheduled maintenance on all the installations and equipment related to water supply, sanitation and treatment systems.
- Oversee emergency works and repairs of various water supply, sanitation and treatment systems.
- Prepare and analyze the reports related to the performance of water equipment in the field including wells, pumps, main supply, storage tanks and distribution networks.
- Provide guidance and practical hands-on training to staff working under his/her supervision.
- Ensure smooth implementation of the water and sanitation project
- Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date project information required for implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure proper and continuous monitoring of the progress and completion in accordance with the implementation schedule, regularly visiting sites with representatives of partners in order to identify difficulties
- Team with all business and technical project partners to exchange information on the sanitation project implementation and status
- Preparation of weekly reports, monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports
- Perform any other duties related to the field/organization as directed by the coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the day-to-day operational, secretarial operations, financial (Cashier) and administrative activities of the organization by organizing the flow of work and prioritizing incoming requests and follow through to ensure timely responses;
- Maintaining the Coordinator’s and Senior Program staff agenda/diary
- Maintaining a physical and e-filing system and ensuring the filing of documents such as activity reports and travel plans for program staff are in the relevant files/folders
- Coordinating administrative and logistical arrangements for visitors, including arranging appointments for the Coordinator, compiling and providing information or relevant materials required
- Preparing and communicating with Finance Department on approval of petty purchases in compliance with LCDO Procurement procedures
- Making necessary arrangements for meetings, workshops, conferences and ensuring venues are booked and related resources are provided including background documentation
- Attend meetings and prepare minutes or meeting summaries
- Collaborates at the unit/department and across the institution level

- Knowledge of, and ability to execute diverse and intricate work procedures related to the timely processing and production of assigned outputs and supporting administrative activities.

- Preparation of mid- and annual progress reports, facilitate/support the measurement of the project impact, using credible methods/tools;
- Facilitate the documentation and communication of success stories that can be used as evidence
- Perform any other activities related to the field/organization as directed by the coordinator
