National Housing Corporation (NHC) is inviting applications from suitable qualified, dynamic and good team players to fill the positions of Facilities Management Supervisor and Repair and Maintenance Supervisor to join its Directorate of Property Management.
JOB TITLE: REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (REF.NO.RMS/NHC/2)
The Repair and Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Facilities Manager and has overall responsibility for planning buildings repairs and maintenance in line with strategic business objectives and managing maintenance works and to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Maintains accuracy records of the condition of the buildings;
• Participates in the development of buildings repair and maintenance policies and procedures;
• Participates in preparing the budget to ensure adequate funds for its repairs and maintenance activities;
• Creates a schedule of regular inspection of the buildings.
• Increases efficiency, improves tenants’ satisfaction levels and manages the assets of NHC in the most profitable and cost effective manner.
• Creates monitoring systems or programs in the institution to detect problems as early as possible.
• Coordinates all maintenance works with regional offices and maintenanceteam/sub -contractor.
• Checks on agreed work by staff/sub-contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
• Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• The applicants should possess a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Facilities
Management, Project management or related field on management of built –up environment.
• At least five (5) years’ work experience in repairs and maintenance of built-up environment.
• Must be skill proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Working experience in real estates management is desirable
• Must have good communication skills both in written Swahili and English.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR (REF. NO.FMS/NHC/1)
TheFacilitiesManagement supervisor reports to theFacilitiesManager and has overall responsibility for coordinating and working with Home Owners’ Association so as to achieve buildings/estates facilitiesmanagement best practices
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Participate in facilities management best practice awareness campaigns and consultative meetings with Home Owners’ Associations.
• Participates in preparing service charge budget so that the facilities management activities get adequate funds.
• Carries out inspection of the buildings and ensures that all construction snags are identified, recorded and submitted to the contractor for rectification within defect liability period.
• Ensures that plants and equipment and other facilities in the buildings are working properly.
• Creates monitoring systems to detectbuilding problems as early as possible.
• Manages the physical facilities in the most professional manner.
• Coordinates allfacilitiesmanagement issues with building caretakers so as to ensure efficient and un-interrupted operations of the building.
• Ensuresthe buildings meets health and safety requirement.
• Coordinates all repairs and maintenance works with maintenance team or contractor.
• Checks that agreed work by maintenance team or contractor has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
• Monitors performance of service providers for maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, security, etc. so as to achieve agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• The applicants should possess a Bachelordegree in Facilities Management, project Management, Land Management and Valuation or related field on management of built –up environment.
• At least five (5) years work experience in repairs and maintenance of built-up environment and facilities management.
• Must be skill proficient in Microsoft applications.

• Must have good communication skills both in written Swahili and English.
