Microjustice Rwanda (MJR) is a non-profit organization that provides basic and essential legal services to underserved populations at minimal cost.
The Support Head (Sp.H) of Microjustice Rwanda (MJR) is responsible for the (progressive) development of the Support department within the framework of the long term strategic policy planning of MJR. The Sp.H's responsibilities will fall mainly in the following categories:
- Human resources
- Financial Planning and administration
- IT and Database Management
- Advertising and Marketing
- Fundraising
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1) Developing an annual plan of the Support department, including a human resource planning, budget planning and liquidity planning of MJR, within the given framework of the annual policy planning as determined by the P.D of MJR
2) The implementation of the annual plan of the Support Department, possibly in cooperation with partners
3) Design of all marketing materials
4) Fundraising initiative and coordination
3) The Sp.H ensures the optimal development of the Support Department, and therefore continuously monitors and evaluates the internal functioning of this department, and, in close coordination and cooperation with other departments, suggest and, upon approval of the P.D, implements internal changes.
- The Sp.H ensures the daily effective internal functioning of the Support Department, by among others, ensuring resources are distributed to staff in a timely fashion
- The Sp.H is responsible for a sound file management system and oversees and ensures the correct management of other properties of Microjustice Rwanda
- The Sp.H is responsible for optimal internal communication within the Support Department
- The Sp.H ensures the maintenance of good internal relations, ambiance and a good working environment in the Support Department.
- The Sp.H is responsible for timely and adequate financial reporting to the P.D, and the timely identification and communication of financial constraints or opportunities, in relation to the established budget and liquidity planning
6) Furthermore, the Sp.H is responsible for any other possible issues that are of importance to foster the progressive development of the Social Department.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in in management, human resources, marketing, or a related field
- Work experience in the field of human resources, management, financial planning, or marketing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in English required, proficiency in Kinyarwanda and/or French appreciated
Desired Skills
- Managerial planning skills and effective communication skills as a team leader
- Effectiveness working with a team to achieve desired results
- Successful experience in marketing and fundraising
- Grassroots community organization, volunteer coordination, and/or mobilization experience
- Interest in and knowledge of global social justice
