Full Time:
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7.
The salary range will be £35,707- £38,744 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Development Planning Unit (DPU) is an international centre specialising in academic teaching, practical training, research and consultancy in the field of urban and regional development and planning. It is concerned with promoting sustainable forms of development, understanding rapid urbanisation and encouraging innovation in the policy, planning and management responses to the economic, social and environmental development of cities and regions, especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
We are seeking to appoint a highly competent and dynamic individual with a solid academic record grounded in the politics and practice of international development with particular reference to development administration and planning. The successful applicant will contribute to the DPU's mission by making contributions to teaching and research in the field of just policies and approaches to development in countries of the Global South.
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills: Educated to PhD level in a directly relevant discipline with a strong understanding of debates and literature informing the fields of development studies, national planning, and development management and administration in contemporary development situations. A relevant research record and solid publications record in the above areas as well as an established background in research and/or practice in the planning, implementation and/or evaluation of development intervention in the context of the Global South. Experience as a lecturer at a postgraduate level, and in the organisation and management of a course at postgraduate level.
