Microjustice Rwanda (MJR) is a non-profit organization that provides basic and essential legal services to underserved populations at minimal cost.
The Facilitator Coordinator (F.C) of Microjustice Rwanda is responsible for the coordination of the facilitator program of MJR within the given framework and policy planning of the Social Department as determined by the Social Head. The F.C will oversee the field research and outreach work of the facilitators I order to determine needs and gather information before case individual situations are assigned to case managers.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1) The F.C is responsible, in close cooperation with the Social Head, for the coordination of tasks between facilitators and ensures the coordination of the movement of files between the Legal and the Social Department, and therefore cooperates closely with the Case Management Coordinator (C.M.C) of MJR.
2) The F.C is responsible for the monitoring of the performance of the facilitators of MJR, by among others, irregular visits to outlets as required by the Social Head (S.H).
3) The F.C oversees the general functioning of the facilitator program, and identifies and communicates challenges or opportunities to the S.H
4) The F.C is responsible for the timely and adequate (financial) weekly reporting of the performance of facilitators by, among others, collecting their performance sheets (consults and cases).
5) The F.C is responsible for the distribution of resources and necessary documents to the facilitators of MJR, in a timely fashion
6) The F.C is responsible for, in close cooperation with the Social Head, the refunding of clients as deemed necessary.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in law or a related field
- Work experience in the field of law or managerial/planning position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda required, proficiency in French appreciated
Skills
- Managerial skills and effective communication skills as a team leader
- Effectiveness working with a team to achieve desired results
- Grassroots community organization, volunteer coordination, and/or mobilization experience
- Knowledge of and familiarization with Rwandan legal system
- Experience in dealing with at-risk populations
- Interest in and knowledge of global social justice
