The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an internationally renowned centre for research and postgraduate education in public health and tropical medicine, is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic project administrator. The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support and financial management for the HTA-BCG project. Main responsibilities will include the monitoring of the research budgets, financial reporting, invoice processing, organising seminars, co-ordinating meetings and ensuring efficient running of the project.
The successful applicant will have had previous experience in providing comprehensive and proactive administrative support to a high standard for projects and senior academic and professional staff in a busy office environment. S/he must have proven experience of budget management including creating budgets, monitoring accounts and producing financial projections and reports.
Applicants will need to possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, IT and decision-making skills. A proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, as well as able to be aware of and maintain confidentiality when necessary, is essential.
The post is a half time (0.5FTE) appointment which is funded up to 31st January 2014. The position will then be renewed subject to the availability of funding. Salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway grade 4 in the range £26,457 - £30,116 pro rata per annum, inclusive and will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions.
