London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine - IT Services
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an internationally renowned centre for research and postgraduate education in public health and tropical medicine, requires an IT Adviser to provide an international helpdesk and advisory service to some of LSHTM's major overseas collaborative programmes.
Most of these programmes are based in Africa, and the successful applicant will be required to spend a considerable amount of time at these programmes establishing IT requirements and priorities, advising on network connectivity and security good practice, and helping to resolve IT problems at a number of different levels - network, desktop and server.
The ideal applicant will have proven substantial and successful experience of network and desktop support in a WAN environment, and a good understanding of network and security standards. An in-depth knowledge of the Windows desktop and server operating systems, and experience of the production of IT documentation and instructions are essential, along with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
The post is available for a period of 36 months initially. Salary will be within the range £35,511-£40,349 inclusive per annum, with excellent conditions including 30 days' annual leave and 6 Director's days, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
