The Global Mechanism and UNDP-GEF are also supporting the Government of Mauritius to develop their integrated financing strategy (IFS). By promoting knowledge exchange in the context of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), GM and UNDP-GEF are also preparing the ground for the development of a sub-regional Integrated Financing Strategy.
The Programme Coordination Unit for GOS/UNDP/GEF projects in Seychelles is seeking a local consultant / contractor to undertake the following assignment:
INTEGRATED FINANCING STRATEGY (IFS) DEVELOPMENT IN SEYCHELLES (Public Finance)
This consultancy aims to build on the outcomes of the bilateral consultations held in Seychelles, of the national consultation and validation workshops and of the NAP document, to carry out a more in-depth financial assessment with regard to the opportunities for developing an Integrated Financing Strategy (IFS) for financing the implementation of the NAP. This also includes exchanges at the sub-regional level with other countries involved in the IFS development (e.g. Mauritius).
The contract should cover 50 working days over a period of 3 months (15 July – 15 October 2011).
Required expertise
• Excellent knowledge of public finance and of government planning and budgeting processes in Seychelles.
• Thorough understanding of macro-economic, fiscal, financial and monetary policies in Seychelles.
• Good knowledge of policy processes in the Indian Ocean sub-region, including the Indian Ocean Commission.
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English and understanding of French.
