SECURITY SPECIALIST - OPERATIONS
African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to employ experienced Security Specialists - Operations who will supervise daily operations and immediately report any collusion, attempts of theft and non compliance by operational security officers at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine. The incumbents must ensure that Security Officers carry out duties diligently and without fail and that all incidents and breaches are reported immediately.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervise and assist in the direction of activities of the CCTV Operators
• Ensure proper vehicle and personal searches are carried out and any suspicious items, actions or poor behavior is reported immediately
• Carry out fence patrols and report any breaches
• Assist with investigations
• Ensure the Gold Security Standard is adhered to
• Ensure the security system’s integrity is maintained
• Manage and monitor all shift changes
• Maintain the high standard of discipline expected from Security Officers
• Ensure reviews and target surveillance as requested by the Security Manager and Mine Investigations Group is carried out
• Ensure all operators comply with Code of Conduct and Ethics Procedures
• Carry out any instructions as directed by the Security Manage
• Assist with training and development of operations Security Officers and develop senior Security Officers to grow into Specialist positions
• Responsibilities in Terms of Section 5.19 of the Barrick Gold Security Standard
o Shall be responsible and accountable for ensuring that non–compliance with procedures is reported without delay
o Shall be responsible and accountable for maintaining, communicating and achieving all surveillance related reports
o Shall report in writing on after each shift all instances on non-compliance to the Security Manager with a copy directly to the Processing Plant Manager and the General Manager
o Shall ensure that an updated surveillance manual is held within the surveillance room
o Shall ensure all incidents are logged on SecureBase
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Diploma in Security Management or at least 5 years military or police experience
• Form VI as a minimum requirement
Experience Requirements:
• Previous Security Operational experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Unquestionable integrity
• Committed to abiding by and implementing the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights
• Follow all international and Tanzanian laws pertaining to the ‘Use of Force’
