Description:IMA World Health is seeking an experienced Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated United States Agency for International Development-funded project to provide capacity building assistance to government and indigenous organizations to improve HIV/AIDS service delivery in the United Republic of Tanzania.

Duties:The COP will provide leadership and management for all aspects of program development, including technical and financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting, assuring the quality, impact and cost effectiveness for the successful implementation of the project. The COP will maintain collaborative working relationships with the donor, the Ministry of Health at the national and regional levels, international and local partners, and other stakeholders. S/he will provide effective management and support of staff and provide guidance and assistance in reporting, documentation, and knowledge management.

Qualifications:
Desired qualifications:

• Master’s level degree in health or related field (Ph.D. or doctoral degree preferred);
  
• at least 8 years successful experience in the management of health programs of similar size and scope in Africa (conflict and/or post-conflict country experience strongly preferred);
  
• demonstrated technical knowledge, demonstrated skills and experience in HIV/AIDS programming, with a focus on capacity building (training, human resource development, etc.);
  
• demonstrated performance as a decision-maker with excellent interpersonal skills;
  
• and demonstrated leadership working effectively within and across the health, community, and NGO/FBO/CBO and private sectors.
  

English fluency required.

Kiswahili fluency strongly preferred.
