DIRECTOR: QUALITY PROMOTION AND ASSURANCE (PEROMNES GRADE 5)

The Director of the University Quality Promotion and Assurance Unit provides vision and strategic leadership in all quality assurance matters in the academic and support sectors of the University. This includes negotiations with different university communities for internal and external quality assurance processes. The Director represents the interests of quality both in the wider university and externally. S/he oversees the efficient management and administration of the university Quality Promotion and Assurance unit and reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning). The Director also undertakes and fosters research into higher education quality matters.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• A Doctoral degree;
• Two years experience in teaching in a higher education institution;
• Five years experience at senior management level;
• Demonstrable leadership experience in higher education quality promotion and assurance;
• Evidence of in-depth and extensive knowledge of higher education and related quality assurance policies, processes and issues;
• A research record (at least at the level of Senior Lecturer)
REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent oral communication and report-writing skills;
• Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills in interacting at all levels;
• Ability to lead diverse teams;
• Competence in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
PREFERENCES/ ADVANTAGES
• A Doctorate degree in higher education or quality related area;
• Leadership experience in higher education quality promotion and assurance processes at institutional or national level;
• Experience at senior management level in a higher education or research institution;
• Knowledge and practical experience of implementing quality assurance systems
