Job description

  • Under the general guidance of the applicable Manager, the Engineer Intern is responsible for the completion of a project supporting drilling, completions, production or reservoir engineering and operations.
  • The work is to be conducted in a safe, legal, and environmentally/socially responsible and effective manner, and in conformance with established Statoil guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable governmental regulations.
  • The position will be at either our Austin, TX office or one of our Field locations (Eagle Ford, Marcellus or Bakken).
  • The Intern Engineer reports to the respective Sub-Surface, D&C or O&M Function Manager. Under the day to day guidance of an experienced engineering mentor.
  • Responsibilities and Duties
  • The key responsibilities of the Petroleum Engineering Intern include:
  • Gain hands-on engineering experience working on a project which will directly impact the business.
  • Work directly with other engineers and professionals in the different assets as a team and see how people work together at Statoil.
  • Develop your skills under the supervision and guidance of an assigned, experienced mentor.
  • Work with your mentor to make a final project presentation.
  • Display and present your project in an end-of-summer poster session.
  • Use the internship program as a gateway to explore job opportunities within Statoil.
