Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development
organization with Headquarters based in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. The Mission/Vision of

Good Neighbors Tanzania (GNTZ) was established in 2005 and has offices in Dar es Salaam,
Mwanza and Dodoma.
Position: Program Officer
Objective
Implementation of Saemaul Zero Hunger Communities project activities through
documentation of programs and processes; implementation of project activities and
community mobilization, facilitation and training of community based committees, and
evaluating program/activity effectiveness
Project Background
The Saemaul Zero Hunger Communities project is a World Food Programme pilot project
implemented by Good Neighbors Tanzania and Chamwino District Council, and funded by
the Government of the Republic of Korea. The project is based in Chamwino District (Fufu,
Suli and Chiboli villages), Dodoma region, Tanzania.
Duties and Responsibilities
Health Improvement and Nutrition Campaigns
Focal person for communication and coordination of activities with District Health
Department.
Mobilization of community involvement in Health improvement
Organizing Nutrition trainings and campaigns to all dispensaries in all three villages
Monitoring community participation in Health improvement and nutrition training
Implement health-related activities in coordination with District Health Department
and Village Dispensaries
Youth Development Committee, Water Committee, Village Development Committee
To establish, facilitate and train development committees in each village.
Help communities realize their problems in their community and find the solutions to
those problems.
To prepare committee developments trainings to all respective villages.
Organize and mobilize community contribution for community development.
Community Centre and Warehouse Construction
To organize community mobilization in participating on construction work.
Monitoring the Community participation and supervision of construction work
together with Programme Manager.
Food for Asset
Monitoring of food allocation and distribution in construction of charcoal dams
and other related activities in food for works.
To perform any other related duties as required.
Competencies and Qualification
Degree/ Advance Diploma in Community Development, Sociology, Cooperative and
Management or any related course
Minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in community development in an
organization.
Experience in facilitating community development related activities in rural areas.
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites frequently and sleeping at project
sites occasionally.
Interest in community and rural development
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili
Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Excel and MS word
Ability to work in an international and multi-national environment
Religious and cultural tolerance
Ability to work independently and under pressure
