Amref Health Africa is an independent, non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose mission is "to improve the health of people by partnering with and empowering communities and strengthening health systems". Amref Health Africa-Tanzania is largely supported by Multilateral, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDSITB/Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Water and sanitation, capacity building and clinical outreach.
Amref Health Africa with its partner Legal Human Right Centre (LHRC) have received funds from UN Women through the UN Trust Fund to implement a three year project on Female Genital Mutilation Elimination (Tokomeza Ukeketaji) in Serengeti district, Mara region.
Also, Amref Health Africa has received funding from the Government of Canada under "Partnership initiatives to Strengthen Maternal New- born and Child Health (PS-MNCH) in developing countries. This is a five year project to be implemented in two districts in Geita region (Geita DC and Nyang'wale).

Project Officer - Community Mobilization: - PS-MNCH (DFATD), Based in GEITA and Nyang'wale)-2 positions
Reports to: Project Manager
JOB OBJECTIVE:-
Main actor at community level for community mobilization, organization of community and health facility activities, advocacy forums, networking and day to day project field work
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Ensures good networking and collaboration with communities, partners and stakeholders
Organize and coordinate community sensitization, advocacy and mobilizations campaigns with communities, partners and stakeholders.
Organize quarterly review meetings with community leaders and health facility leaders, stakeholders and partners
Deploy gender-sensitive and rights-based approaches to promote community awareness on essential RMNCH package.
Coordinate and facilitate training arid orientation activities in the promotion of maternal, child and new-born health within the community settings.
Work closely with communities (Community Health' Workers, community leaders, and community influencers), health service providers, CBOs and parents to promote community-based networking activities for women and Children Health; .
Organize and facilitate production and availability of information, Education and communication (IEC) materials in the project area.
Participate fully in identification, documentation and dissemination of good practices and lessons learned.
Actively participate in operational research and ensure high quality of intervention at community level .
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:-
Higher diploma or basic degree in Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing or other health related degrees, community development, social/behavioral sciences Postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
Four years' experience in RMNCH and public health interventions. Professional work experience in the area of RMNCH, Nutrition and/or community system strengthening.
Good mobilization and facilitation skills
Ability to work independently good leadership and communication skills
Ability to work with people from all backgrounds
