EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
JOB TITLE: IT TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
Reports to: MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Reporting Office: 60MW Nyakato Power Plant
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all plant computerized systems are properly installed and maintained including software and hardware systems and also networks.Also ensure that technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
Principal Accountabilities:
• To operate all computerized maintenance management systems
• To link documents to any part of the system e.g maintenance object, spare part, purchase order and work order
• To interface any file/ view program e.g. CAD drawings, multi-media files, video, scanned documents, word documents, spread sheet, internet pages
• To print out work order, job ordering and job card
• To store documents directly in database
• Stock control-to optimizing of spare parts and material stock handling routines
• Working tool management including basic tool database, lending, manually and portable data logger
• To ensure that technology is accessible and equipped with the current hardware and software.
• To monitor security of all plant computerized technology
• To work out on Inputs and maintain IP addresses
• To maintain current and accurate inventory of technology, hardware, software and resources.
• To work on troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating system.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Form IV/VI
• Holder of Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of one (1) year working experience.

LAB TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all scheduled activities related to sampling, analysis, testing, measuring and recording of chemicals and reagents in oil(HFO), Lube Oil and water are carried out effectively and efficiently in order to ensure plant reliability and availability.
Principal Accountabilities:
• To conduct the experiment, analysis and test of fuel (HFO & DO)
• To conduct the experiment, analysis and test for cooling water
• To conduct the experiment, analysis and test of Lube Oil
• Ability to identify proper testing reagents/chemicals requirement in each testing category
• To provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
• To maintain all laboratory equipments in good order.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annually report for record keeping, future references and submit to fuel management engineer within agreed time.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Form IV/VI
• Holder of Full Technical Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Laboratory Technologies from a recognized Higher Learning Institutions.
• Minimum of three (3) years related working experience in the same field.
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
An attractive compensation package based on performance and commensurate with the responsibility will apply to the successful candidates. The position terms of employment are performance based and unspecified contract
