Currently, FHI360 invites applications from ideal qualified candidates for the following positions for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Tanzania-Caring for children and empowering young people (C2EYP).The project will enable most vulnerable children (MVC) and other young people to access services for improving health, nutrition, education, protection, livelihoods and psychosocial well-being. 2. Public-Private Partnership Advisor- based in Dar es Salaam
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The position will playa leading role in identifying, designing, and brokering public-private partnerships that focus on agriculture, health, natural resource management, and/or water, sanitation and hygiene services (WASH). S/he will provide technical expertise on public-private partnership issues, such as the development of strategies for outreach to the private sector. S/he will also represent FHI 360 on public-private sector issues at technical, policy' and strategic planning meetings, including meetings with collaborators and donors.
Specifically will be: engaging private sector partners and stakeholders and serving as principal private sector liaison for the project; organizing meetings with local and international business representatives; coordinating conversations, roundtables, and activities across a number of industry groups, business sectors, and organizations; providing though leadership in support of partnerships; providing technical leadership for the design, formalization, and management of innovative public-private partnerships; providing technical assistance to project stakeholders' relative to the structuring of public-private partnerships and outreach to the private sector; coordinating with other donors, local organizations and Tanzanian government structures to ensure harmonization of public-private partnership activities; providing timely and accurate reporting to USAID on all partnership project areas; and developing implementing outreach strategies to the private sector.
Position Requirements: Qualifications /Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in East Africa, preferably in supporting agriculture, health, natural resource management, and/or WASH services Degree in business administration, economics, finance, or another relevant discipline from an accredited university, with preference for candidates possessing a Master's degree or higher;
Proven ability to identify high-value partnerships with private and public sector stakeholders and to leverage private investment towards addressing public needs; ,
A proven ability to work collaboratively with and lead negotiations and reach a consensus among several private and public sector stakeholders;
Experience with impact investment and creating access to finance highly desirable;
Demonstrated experience in understanding, brokering, and/or overseeing the development of high-value public-private alliances and partnerships;
Ability to work independently and effectively with tight deadlines;
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the private sector, citizen groups, and other key project stakeholders;
Proficiency in Swahili and English;
2+ years' experience living or working in Tanzania or another developing country is preferable;
Experience with a USG cooperative agreement preferred;
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with host country government personnel, stakeholders,
NGO partners and international donor agencies;
Strong interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English;
Ability to work independently and manage a high volume work flow.
