This role is responsible to manage merchant acquisition and usage. This includes merchant acquisition, product usage, policy and procedures development, Management of funds, consultant and other potential key stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
Merchant acquisition
- Ensure merchant sufficient and efficient merchant footprint
- Ensure checklist development and adherence when onboarding merchant.
- Develop mechanisms to streamline merchant acquisition process.
- Ensure recruited merchant are equipped with the needed knowledge to offer the service
- Ensure all the merchants acquired are timely well branded and given the needed tools to perform the service.
Merchant Management
- Develop support mechanism to ensure that acquired merchants are able to conduct their business smoothly
- Work with risk and Cops to come up with joint support processes to support merchant.
- Work with the regional teams to create local support structures for merchants
- Design and come up with promotional activities that will enhance merchant usage in key strategic areas.
- Come up with different initiative that will enhance ecosystem development to ensure the float stays in tigo pesa circulation many time before exiting
Stakeholder Management.
- Identify and management of key internal and external stakeholders that can work with the company in support of merchant usage.
Customer Care
- Ensure customer service are well informed and properly trained on the product so that they can support the recruited merchant.
- Ensure merchant are well protected from frauds via means like training and monitoring tools.
Performance monitoring and reporting
- Develop the KPS and dashboard to monitor performance.
- Preparation of relevant reports and timely sharing with the management for decision making

Position Requirements
• Master degree preferred, Bachelors required.
• Minimum of 3 years in management positions.
• In depth understanding of mobile money industry.
• Understanding of related processes.
• Understanding of banking environment.
• Understanding of project management
