Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) is a Parastatal Organization under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism established by Act NO.5 of 1980 with a broad mandate of conducting and coordinating research in all aspects of forest Production and Utilization. .
TAFORI with its Headquarters at Kingolwira in Morogoro Municipality has seven Research Centres located at: Kibaha, Lushoto, Moshi, Dodoma, Tabora, Malya and Mufindi.

Carries out system back-up and periodically tests recovery procedures.
Follows up on release of updates and software,
Assists in providing IT support services to users,

Qualifications
Holder of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
Must possess knowledge in Computer programs applicable in research data processing and analysis. .
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To collect samples from trial plots for laboratory investigation
To assist Research Officers in carrying out research programmes by conducting laboratory tests and reporting results.
To assist in simple routine laboratory work.
To service and keep laboratory equipments and records.

Personal Secretary II (x 6 ) PGSS 5.1

Qualifications
Holder of Ordinary Secondary or Advanced School Education Certificate of Secondary Education

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Typing open and confidential reports, letters, memorandum and documents.
Receives and guides visitors.
Keeps appointment records.
Makes sure that all work is done accurately within the required time.
Ensure that all-working machines and materials areused economically and are safely kept.

Qualifications
Holder of Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education Examination who has relevant training in Forestry from any recognized Institution.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To maintain and undertake sanitary cleaning of experimental plots, arboreta, graveyards and tree nurseries.
Involvement in layout and establishment of experiments.
Assists Technicians in supervising and maintenance of experiments.
Assists technicians in the assessment of experiments and data entry into computers.

Internal Auditor Grade II (2 Posts) PGSS 7.1
Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Bachelor of Commmerce (Accounting) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Must be Computer literate on programmes applicable in financial/ accounts data processing and analysis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To check cash stamps on bank reconciliation statements.
To execute audit to all payments.
Auditing financial and inventories reports.
Ensuring that financial and internal control systems are effective and are consistent with institute financial rules and regulations.
Auditing accounts.
Ensuring budget control system is effective.
Preparing and advising on audit guidelines to be used by the institution.
Ensuring that internal audit reports are prepared according to audit standards.
Undertaking special checks and investigations for audit purposes.

Qualifications

Class Honors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
To understudy Senior Researchers in order to acquire experience in carrying out research work in various fields of forestry in the respective Directorate.
To assist in setting up experiments, data collection and analysis.
To search for relevant literature required and writing research reports. '
To supervise maintenance of research trial plots.
To train and supervise Laboratory Technicians

Qualifications
Holder of Ph.D. degree in forestry or related Biological Sciences from a recognized University who attained a minimum of an Upper Second Class Honors' degree at undergraduate level with at least 8 years of research experience, 6 years of administrative experience and at least 8 retrievable scientific publications refereed in recognized Journal(s)

Holder of M.Sc, degree in Forestry or related Biological Sciences from a recognized University who attained a minimum of an Upper Second Class Honors' degree at undergraduate level with more than 8 years of research experience, 5 years of administrative experience and at least 8 good scientific publications refereed in recognized Journal(s).

Responsible to the Director General on all Financial, Administrative/Human Resources and Research matters of the Centre.
In charge for planning, organizing; coordinating and controlling of the activities of the Centre.
Ensures the Center's research and other administrative activities are of the highest quality and order and reflect the Institutes priorities
Responsible for interpretation and implementation of technical, financial and administrative/Human
Resources policies/directives/guidelines given by the Institute.
Prepares financial and Human Resource estimates for the Centre.
Prepares quarterly/annual reports on the Centre's activities.
