Rio Tinto Energy has recently acquired control of Riversdale Mining in Mozambique. Riversdale currently has 2 projects, the Benga project which is set to produce first coal in 2011. The Rio Tinto Health and Safety standards and processes need to be established in a quick and effective way to deliver strong health and safety outcomes and alignment with Rio Tinto's values and standards.
The Maintenance Supervisor infrastructure Water is a member of the Maintenance and Engineering team, reporting through to the Superintendant Maintenance & Infrastructure The team is responsible for providing maintenance and engineering support services to the Benga Operations. The Maintenance Supervisor infrastruacture water will be expected to carry out planned maintenance and repair breakdown on water reticulation and sewage works and services for the Benga Operation
Key accountabilities:
- Lead by example, demonstrating behavior which supports the direction and values of RTCM by consistently demonstrating safe behaviors.
- Confront Unsafe Acts in a proactive and positive manner.
- Actively participate in effective pre-start meetings and safety improvement initiatives
- Follow and promote the RTCM safety standards
- Complete Take 5's, pre-task hazard assessments & permits as required.
- Demonstrate high quality workmanship in all aspect of work.
- Interpret technical drawings and apply to fabrication activities
- Interpret welding specification and apply to tasks
- Understand material specification and subsequent application of leading practice welding techniques
- Actively participate in formal and informal training activities
- Actively participate in the development of Benga welding equipment, facilities, specifications and procedures
- Actively apply the RTCM Team Membership model.
- Manage personal leave to within acceptable limits.
- Communicate openly and honestly with team members
- Participate actively in the work management process ensuring all work history is captured in the RTCM Benga CMMS
- Contribute suggestions to improve teamwork, safety, work processes and costs
Minimum Requirements
- College/University Education/ Other Qualifications
- Year 10 certificate (minimum)
- SAGE experience (desirable)
- Microsoft Office Suite (desirable)
- Drivers License
- Interpretation of application of welding standards and technical drawings
- ability to work under pressure
- ability to use time effectively to complete tasks;
- good verbal communication skills;
- the ability to work effectively with others
