Mechanical Foreman -Buzwagi Gold Mine

Our Buzwagi Mine based in Tanzania requires a suitably qualified and experience Mechanical Foreman to join the Maintenance Team in the Process Plant. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and is worked on a 6/3 weeks FIFO roster.

KEY RESULT AREAS / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The specific duties of the Mechanical Foreman include but are not limited to the following:

Lead the Buzwagi Mechanical Maintenance Teams Development & Operation to ensure agreed targets are achieved, within corporate safety and environmental guidelines in the areas of:

Mill Availability
Throughput and Recovery
Process Operating & Maintenance Costs
Capital Expenditure

Manage activities of the Mechanical Maintenance Team to assure safe, cost effective and high quality maintenance activities and to optimize Company’s financial status.
Ensure that maintenance practices result in maximum mill availability.
Lead Mechanical Maintenance personnel to work safety at all times, and develop and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Develop and maintain reporting procedures for maintenance, planning and cost reporting.
Manage workshop facilities, ensuring excellent house keeping and that tooling is secured, maintained and replaced as required.
Support the Process Maintenance Superintendent in development of a long-term maintenance plan, which includes all identified routine, non-routine and probable maintenance work, and capital required to ensure safe and effective performance of the Process Plant on a yearly basis and for Life of Mine.

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

Qualification:

Trade qualified - mechanical discipline; or B. Mechanical Engineering / Associate Diploma or similar.

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years experience of Process Plant Mechanical maintenance including experience in gold plants, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in systematic coaching and training of employees is essential.
Experience with computerised maintenance systems, eg Pronto, is essential
