CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for a Head of Operations for the NCA Darfur Programme. This post plays a key role in formulating the agreed strategy, goals and annual plans for the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Darfur Programme. The Head of Operations has overall responsibility for the support functions essential in delivering against the strategy in a continuously changing context.
Your role
Working under the NCA Programme Director, you will play a key role in the development and management of the NCA Darfur Programme through active participation in the Senior Management Team and assist or lead on the implementation of NCA Darfur Programme strategy plans as appropriate. You will develop and manage the NCA Darfur Programme HR Strategy as well as coordinating all the administrative support functions to the programme including those in field offices. You will oversee logistics management systems and ensure their proper usage in close coordination with the NCA Country Logistics Manager and cooperate with the HSO Department/Safety Manager on the practical implementation of safety/security measures according to the Security Management plans
Your profile
You should have a degree in management, business administration, human resources or related fields and significant experience in international positions overseas as well as a good understanding of complex emergency interventions. We expect you to possess excellent management skills, being able to work with, manage and lead a large multicultural team of all levels and capabilities. You should also have demonstrable experience of successfully managing at a distance with a proven ability in capacity/skills building and training. You should furthermore have solid experience in Human Resources, Administration and Logistics Management.
