ICTJ seeks a Part Time French Website Coordinator to maintain ICTJ’s French website and to ensure that the site remains current and relevant. This is a three month consulting position for three days a week, and will be based at ICTJ’s office in Kinshasa, The Democratic Republic of Congo.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1)Under the direction of the Head of Office, DRC Program and Online Strategist, coordinate content on ICTJ’S French website. This will include:
A.Developing and maintaining a calendar for new site content.
B.Sourcing, writing, editing and posting new content – including features, events and other non-static material.
C.Scheduling and editing static page updates.
D.Creating and managing an automated news feed.
2)Manage production of French digital resources with external vendors, checking quality and working with translators and editors when required.
3)Monitor and report on French web analytics and set up automated reports.
4)Develop and strengthen linkages with online human rights community in French-speaking regions. This may include:
A.Developing strategies for French social media channels, include Facebook, Twitter,YouTube and Flickr.
B.Expanding and reinforcing transitional justice related articles on Wikipedia.
C.Other platform utilization as opportunities arises.
5)Assist on special projects such as multimedia initiatives, campaigns, trainings and other activities.
6)Perform other duties as necessary and as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Public Policy, or other relevant field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years relevant professional communications work experience, preferably in human rights, international law, or a related field.
Related Skills or Knowledge:
1.Must be a native French speaker, and have excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
2.Must have an understanding of online content, communications and digital advocacy.
3.Strong interest in international affairs, particularly in human rights.
4.Must have strong research and analytical skills as well as the ability to solve problems and exercise good judgment.
5.Proven track record of project management and adherence to strict deadlines.
6.Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.
7.Proficient with the use of computers, including MS Office Applications, knowledge of design software Drupal and HTML.
