We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead and manage all aspects of the organization’s finance function.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Director of Finance will be responsible for managing the organization’s accounting and financial systems, maintain full and accurate accounting records, conducting financial analysis and preparing detailed financial reports and statements. S/He will provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership to inform the organization’s strategy and operations in collaboration with senior management. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Financial Management and Reporting • Further develop overall financial function in accordance with the organization’s evolving priorities and needs • Oversee all financial management and accounting activities including financial reporting for grants Formulate, recommend and implement sound fiscal policies, procedures and controls. • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in consultation with the management team; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior management team informed of the organizations financial status • Coordinate and lead annual audit process, including the A-133 audit, liaising with external auditors and Board Finance / Audit / Legal Committee • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to management team, President and Board of Directors • Work closely with program directors to ensure that fiscal requirements for grants and contracts are identified, realized and monitored • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
Grants Management • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including USAID • Ensure federal, corporate and foundation donor requirements are adequately satisfied Risk Management Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures and terms of funding agreements • Collaborate with Board of Directors Finance, Audit and Legal Committee to address and appropriately resolve fiscal management issues
QUALIFICATIONS OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Knowledge, Education and Experience • MBA/CPA or related degree preferred • At least 7-10 years of overall professional experience; ideally 6+ years of broad financial management experience with knowledge of GAAP, USAID and IFRS. • A successful track record in grants management, with experience in managing government funding • The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area • Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with -- programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software Skills • Strong analytical, leadership, organizational and problem solving skills • Excellent attention to detail • Strong ability to prioritize, negotiate and collaborate with a number of internal and external stakeholders • Ability to proactively take initiative and drive assignments to completion independently • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to proactively work independently and as an effective team member • Personal qualities of integrity and honesty and capacity to interact openly, honestly and professionally Touch Foundation, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer (M/F/D/V). |
