Job Purpose
- To develop and manage the country R&Q area by ensuring effective governance and providing support to the Country Senior Partner (CSP) in the following areas: Firm-wide risk management, compliance with the Network Risk Management Standards
- To develop and manage the firm’s business continuity programme
. To manage adhoc projects as and when required.
Responsibilities
- To monitor risk management standards and risk management policies and processes specifically monitoring emerging non Line of Service risks, liaising with Line of Service Risk and Quality and managing the risk management standards compliance and self-assessment programme.
- To develop and maintain a repository of information for risk management methodology, policies and good practice.
- To develop and maintain a risk management strategy for the firm and recommend annual objectives.
- To develop and maintain the enterprise-wide risk management register
- To develop an annual action plan for the Network Risk Management Standards, monitor progress and ensure timely action is taken to address these.
- To produce monthly reports on Risk & Quality activities reports for the firms’ leadership.
- To be an effective member of the Africa Central Risk & Quality team by taking part in annual inter-country compliance testing and training.
- To coordinate country LoS risk management teams and monitor compliance with risk management standards.
- To ensure the firm has fully implemented all processes in accordance with the network Independence Compliance programme.
- To ensure the firm has adequate training and communication programme in place to enable partners and staff to be sufficiently aware of Risk & Quality issues.
- To maintain and control input to the firm’s Business Continuity Management Programme in a timely manner and ensure it meets the requirements of the business.
- To manage adhoc projects as required.
Job knowledge, skills and experience The jobholder must have:
- Strong business insight and good customer relationship skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers

- Demonstrable strategic thinking skills and experience operating at a strategic level
- Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Decision-making skills and reporting on complex issues
- Ability to exploit IT systems and to develop effective information networks and management information (E)
- Demonstrate the ability to lead by example, manage, motivate and develop staff
Experience and qualifications
The applicants must have a degree in a business related discipline or in law. Membership of the Institute of Risk Management or the Business Continuity Institute would be an advantage.
They must have at least 5 years work experience and be able to manage their own time and guide the teams they work with.
The role will require a certain amount of travel outside of the jobholder’s base location.
