Job Title: Information Systems (IS) Mentor - 12-24 Months Fixed Term Position
Location: Kampala
Job Purpose:
To train and mentor the local IS Delivery Team in specialised IS technical and service delivery skills required
to deliver competent IS service in a busy Oil Et Gas exploration and production environment.
Responsibilities/ Key Objectives:
• Mentor local national IS staff in service delivery within the Oil and Gas exploration and production environment.
• Provide training on Information Systems Service Delivery best practices in accordance with the Tullow IS way.
• Support the IS Deliver Manager to develop robust systems which "fit" the local business environment and operational requirements of a busy oil and gas operation.
• Support the IS Delivery to embed local IS activities, systems and practices that are in line with Tutlow best practices and global standards.
• Support the IS Delivery Manager in implementing the OLA between local IS Service Support and local infrastructure analysts.
• Directly support, build and manage a support desk team of specialists trained and experienced in
• addressing the particular needs and interests of their local colleagues and customers in the office, in the field and while traveling.
• Facilitate training and mentoring of local colleagues and customers in best practice use of IS systems and services.
• Support the IS Delivery Manager in scoping local business requirements and implementing interventions and improvements that are consistent with the Tullow Group IS policy and standards.

Experience and Education:
• Ability to manage a dispersed team to deliver ongoing local IS services.
• Demonstrate team mentoring and management abilities.
• Must have a clear understanding of the application of ITIL (or equivalent) as a methodology.
• Experience of producing and critiquing technical documentation is essential.
• Excellent general knowledge and experience in all aspects of IS service desk, applications and global systems within the Oil and Gas industry specifically within production environments.
• Proven experience in competence coaching, mentoring and developing teams.
• Oil and Gas industry experience within a production environment is essential.
• Must have a good understanding of networks (LAN and WAN), switches, security protocols and firewalls.
• Excellent communication skills and presentation abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Degree qualified.
The qualifications below are essential:
• ITIL Foundation and/or Advanced certification.
• Project Management certification (PRINCE 2 or PMI).
• MCSE certification.
